It turned out pretty well in the end.
My husband gave me a day of labor for all my little private projects. I had cream of artichoke soup for dinner with crusty french bread and butter. Then the family settled down for a hair raising Indiana Jones DVD (we told my son when to shut his eyes). Harrison Ford is so darn hot at that age. Not bad now, but...
I have had such enormously bad luck on my birthdays that I always say that all I want for my birthday is for no one to die. I checked at 12:01 am and both my seventeen year olds were breathing so as far as I know it was a successful day. :)
