Sending Holiday Cards To Soldiers?

Posted by corafree on November 20, 2006, at 20:47:00

Okay I'm really ignorant re: this subject. There are so many types of mailing now that I can't handle it!

My nephew's on his second tour just N Bag*dad and I've just been sending mail or cards w/ one postage stamp. They're never been returned.

Just recently, some lady looked over my shoulder at my card (think she was snoopy .. haha) and said, "Aren't you supposed to use two stamps?"

(I thought .. well duh .. and put on another stamps.)

I went to United Postal Service site and it says mail suspended, except 'military base'. Well does that mean TO or FROM a military base?

Then, there's a link to global mail. (Is that the same as international mail?)

I have 'the correct way to address him via military standards'.

I have a square -2- rectangular (ya' know .. card shape) T-Day card to mail him. Yep, late :(

My questions to anyone who can help R:

Can I continue mailing from US Postal Service and will it go to Iraq?

How much postage does greeting card need (not stuffed full of anythin)?

How long 'after' Thanksgiving think he'll get?

What's up w/ this global and international mail rhetoric?

tksx4, cf
