Hi Phillilpa,

this may sound WEIRDDDDDD to you, but I heard a radio show once where the guest was, I guess, psychic.

She was saying how important it is to talk to our animals like we would children or friends.

To explain things to them. Like if they're going to go in the car to the vet to say that we're taking them in the car & it'll sound different & they might wonder what's going to happen to them, but that we'll be with them & take care of them, etc.

Since then, my daughter & I do this all the time. Before I went on holiday, I told Ginger, my wonderful cat-who-seems-to-think-he's-a-dog
that Mommy was going away for some days, but that I'd be back & I love him & he'd be taken care of by my daughter, etc etc.

If it were me, I'd be telling your doggie that you love him(her - sorry, can't remember) to pieces. You know your doggie's personality/character - so trust your intuition when speaking, if you decide to try this.

If it were me, I'd talk to my pet as I'd talk to a little child who was soon going to have a baby brother or sister arrive.

This lady on the radio helped pets who had problems. It seemed a very important part of reassurance was "I'll take care of you. I'm here for you. I love you, etc"

Maybe you need to get to know the new puppy a bit before you see what name "fits"??

Hugs to ya Phillipa, luv, Kath
