The Age of Being Unwell

Posted by curtm on April 21, 2006, at 13:23:18 [reposted on April 23, 2006, at 0:27:20 | original URL]

Sometimes I wonder if we have spiraled into an age of putting a name on everything, trying to search for answers to our given feelings. Are we not ok with who we are? Do we need to define ourselves and others? I/he/she feel or act this way, so I must be that. I do it to myself. I do it to my kid (is he normal or does he have ODD?) I do it to my wife. I do it to my dog. In this age there is a diagnosis for everything and there are only more to come. I don't take for granted the extreme conditions some people must have help with, but I would bet this question has crossed everyone's mind at one time or another. Maybe it just make us feel better to do that. I sometimes think I might be taking the easy way out...

By the way, I really DON'T psychoanalyze my dog. :#
