It's not about being a bad student, Deneb. It's about not remembering something that really isn't applicable to you. Selective inattention or selective retention.
And frankly, I only remember the very basics of it.
And because I can't resist the urge to offer advice: check out the way you describe yourself. In the past 24 hours or so, you've told me you don't have my brains and that you are a bad student. There's nothing wrong with your brain, and you could be a great student if you chose to be, but as long as you continue to spin yourself so negatively, you're gonna be wasting energy. How about this, just as an experiment: for one week, speak of yourself as you would speak of someone else, for whom you felt respect and affection. Even if you don't quite believe it, even if it feels as though you're bragging, speak of yourself as if you liked you. Even when you're talking to yourself. Just -- give it a try. Maybe you'll find you feel better.
And please take all this in the spirit in which it is offered, you know?
