I haven't -- yet -- but it's in my future right now.

Before you start saving your pennies, though, there are a lot of questions to get answered, including things like just how dangerous it might be for your body (surgical risks), how many of them the surgeon has done, whether this is a specialty of the surgeon you've selected, pictures of previous work, etc. Also, you'll have to go down onto your knees to your insurance company, and even then might get an unpleasant surprise. According to the surgeon I saw, they have to be able to remove 1.5 pounds of tissue for it to be covered. That's actually a lot. (Go get 1.5 pounds of meat and imagine it on your chest...)

My T specializes in eating disorders, so you can imagine she's not big on plastic surgery. Breast reduction is the only plastic surgery she is ever in favor of.

Few other questions to ask yourself:

What are you hoping the surgery will accomplish in your life? (If you want to be happier, that probably isn't something the surgery will give you directly. If you want to be able to buy bras off the shelf, or wear button-front shirts that fit wihtout gaping, that is.)

How old are you, and do you plan to have children in future? Pregnancy can change things in your body, and it's not a bad idea to wait until after having kids, if you want them. (Although that's not necessary -- just that pregnancy can cause changes to boobs that leave them saggy.) Surgeons mostly say you can't breastfeed after.

How do you feel about plastic surgery in general? I've thought about this surgery for 25 years now, and am still on the fence despite everything. It's major surgery, and I'm considering it for non-life-threatening reasons? Not sure I like that. On the other hand, as I've gotten older, the physical problems have, too. I have osteopenia from the anorexia, so the grooves from my bra straps are much more pronounced than they were only a few years ago. My back is much more uncomfortable than it used to be. Things like that. And I'm still kinda holding off, partly because I'd like to address some of my body image issues before having major surgery.

OK. Long post from someone who has not had it. Now let's both sit back and see if anyone who has had one will answer.
