Do YOU have infinite patience? » Deneb

Why should anyone here have infinite patience? Each of us is struggling with our own problems, although we do try to help others as best we can.

Very few posters here are therapists or therapists-in-training. And, for legal, ethical and other reasons, those who are therapists or studying to be therapists would be well-advised NOT to attempt to "treat" people they meet online.

I've said this before, but I guess I have to say it again: We are not therapists. Dr. Bob is not our therapist and, therefore, he is not your therapist. You have to find a therapist you can see in person, closer to where you live. Psychobabble is not a therapy board. It is not a substitute for real, live therapy with a real, live therapist, which you need.

I can't find the post now, but in the last few days, someone else here (ClearSkies, perhaps?) made the decision to recuse herself from threads like this. From now on, I am going to do the same. Many of us here have tried over many months to help you in so many ways; all this, in spite of our own distress. And now, it's the same thing all over again, every other week or so. I think I would be "enabling" if I allowed myself to get enmeshed in this type of thread again.

I am very sorry that Larry has been blocked again while he was trying to help. He is such a great asset to this forum. He has so much to offer, and he gives so generously. And HE is the one who was blocked??? I don't understand. I will never understand.
