If you like wildlife, definitely check out the Dallas World Aquarium. It's like the tropical rainforest in the middle of downtown. I believe they've recently expanded, so now it's probably cooler than ever.

So you like to shop? Hmmm, lots of places to do that in the Dallas area. It'd help to know WHAT you like to shop for, but here are some ideas. One place that people flock to is Sam Moon. There's one in Frisco and one at the IH35 and IH635 intersection. They sell cheap trendy jewelry and purses. Let me tell you that women can get really crazy there with the pushing and shoving, but it's a blast. They do have some nice sterling silver, but the rest of the stuff is knock-offs and inexpensive. I've gotten some awesome purses there in the $10-$20 range and they've held up really well. They have a website, so you can check them out before you decide to go. If you want to shop upscale, there's the Galleria (the Nordstrom shoe department is heaven), Northpark Mall, and The Shoppes at Willow Bend(in Plano). Nice mid-range malls are Stonebriar (in Frisco and very near to Sam Moon) and the mall in Hurst (can't remember the name). It's hard to pinpoint certain areas when I don't know what you like or where you are staying. Another area I really like is Knox Street (of of Central Expressway). Nice area with shops and restaurants where you can just park and walk the streets (if it's not too hot).

If you like independent films, you could pair a visit to Knox street with a flick at the Angelika (they have a website too.) as there is a theater nearby. There's also an Angelika up in Plano at the tollway and Legacy. I like seeing movies there at in the evening b/c it's got a neat night scene. Another kind of area where you can walk around, look at shops, eat, bar hop, etc.

I lived in the area for 6 years and miss it so much. There are so many wonderful things to do there. If you want suggestions about where to eat or more specific types of things to shop for, feel free to babblemail me or post here. I'm more than happy to help.
