acquaintances shouldn't always get the full truth...I think you should protect yourself first!

If you want to tell him anything, you could tell him something like -- you were deeply upset about something that has since resolved itself, and you're not going to say any more on the topic, and he needs to respect your privacy. It's nice that he cares, though -- that's nice to hear! :)


No one has experience in their field of study when starting out. You'll get it, don't worry! In a few years you WILL be an expert. It will happy fast. I know it sucks that hobbies have to fall to the side, but after school is done you WILL have spare time again and then can devote more time to astronomy & other fun pursuits. I personally felt it was worth it for me to 'drop' stuff during college in order to study and get good grades. Later on I was able to get back into some hobbies.

How's the job going? Is that bothering you lately?
