About 10 years ago my husband and I actually separated, because I thought HE was making me depressed. Luckily he fought for our marriage and I took him back, mostly due to guilt for the pain I was causing him and the kids, and I ended up not feeling better after he left anyway, but it isn't until now, when I am healthier than I've been in years, that I realize why I did what I did. I mean, we definitely had problems (and these were dealt with and healed during the separation, and set us on a better track) but in hindsight, it was mostly a depression that was causing the black cloud. Personally, I would hate to be married to me (i.e. someone who suffers from depression). Wouldn't it be so much easier for them to marry a healthy person who was relatively the same day in and day out?? Sorry - rambling - but to repeat - you are definitely NOT alone.
