Pink and yellow

Posted by Dinah on March 7, 2005, at 18:24:26

My therapist is strongly disapproving of my intention of removing all the non-pink and yellow items from my wardrobe except the ones I really like, and wearing mostly pink and yellow.

He thinks it will appear odd and embarass my family.

I don't see the big deal. I hardly ever get rid of clothes (rarely buy them either) and my closet is full of clothes that I have no fondness for, and just wear because they are there. And pink and yellow, especially lemon yellow and fuschia, make me feel cheerful.

It's not that odd for someone to wear mostly one color or another is it? One of my husband's relatives generally always has purple somewhere on her. She just likes it. Nancy Reagan wore red. Lots of people appear to prefer black, or black and white. So why not pink and yellow?

My husband just laughed and told me I'm my father's daughter. He's been helping me decide which clothes to return from my catalog orders. He doesn't seem upset.
