Arrived at base camp this morning and checked my messages. Still delirious from a night on the mountain above the vertical limit and quite exhausted really, having argued most of the night with fellow climbers, trying to persuade them that they were above the vertical limit and should descend. Most climbers succumb to the altitude, having stopped to argue with other climbers.
Life is really boring up here - well, except when we argue about the vertical limit.
Sometimes at these altitudes our messages are garbled. I count on it. I like to hike with sherpas and go so high, we no longer understand each other. (well we never did, but that's beside the point)
