The only reason I haven't checked out, although I'm not actively suicidal, is that I don't want to do that to my daughter. Basically, I'm just biding my time, hoping I can move to a lake cabin in a few years.

verne, i'm sorry to hear that. it'll be okay.

Is there an anti-depressant that is even remotely similar? I gave it up years ago mainly because it's illegal and I knew I'd never get anything done if I took it on a steady basis.

verne, i sincerely believe you will do better on one of these other meds. it's a good thing you've already reduced to 20 mg! it will be a quicker taper. trust me? cymbalta is just another SNRI, lilly even says it's an SNRI and has minimal impact on dopamine. you need some dopamine, too. especially considering your anhedonia. i would take the plunge and make the switch. if you try lamictal, there is a risk of rash, so with that med, you'd want to start low and go slow to reduce the risk of rash. this is very important. but it's a *great* med, as are the others i mentioned. feel free to babblemail me if you'd like to discuss any of these further. hang in there, buddy. email me anytime, for anything. i have been there.

please take care of yourself.

amy :)
