I'm glad you posted that -- I feel that you're all "real" too and I enjoy coming here and reading updates from everyone. I think I'm addicted too. I check these boards quite frequently and find myself looking forward to updates.For me, Babble is a mix of a serial soap opera and an on-line reality show (85% Starting Over and 15% Survivor) and a diary and a Delphic Oracle.
That's a positive thing - that mix. The soap opera factor is there because I love to hear the latest installments of each persons's story, and they come in small blocks, like soaps.
The reality show...well...you've probably all seen some of the strife that comes and some of the people that go...(weeded out? Survival of the Babble Fittest??? In addition, there IS an "overseer" reading most of the stuff here (Dr. Bob & crew) and that reminds me of the Big Brother show a bit.
Diary - because I do share personal things here, and so do most of you...
and Delphic Oracle because I imbue babble with a mystic positive power to help me and give me advice, albeit sometimes in a mysterious way that I have to unravel for myself.
So anyway, thanks to all of you for being there and sharing your stories. Hopefully I can provide something useful to you guys too...whether it's advice, humor, or just someone who cares what happens to you.
