totally.

i put myself under news-restriction on september 11, 2001. i was in new haven ct, and too many people i knew were affected. too many friends in the city, too many people in my classes with relatives who did (or didn't) make it out in time. i was glued to CNN for days. i hardly slept.

it just depresses me. it makes me not want to be in this world any more because we can't play nice together.

someone's post about the MD execution also touched me (i'm sorry i can't think of names right now). one of the reasons i opted not to go into forensic science as a field was because i couldn't handle the thought that my career choice could force someone to live or die, because my science found them guilty or not guilty. what if i was wrong? what if i misread results? i don't know how i feel about the death penalty, but i dislike knowing that people have control over other people's lives.

sigh.

if i ran the world....
