I know what you mean, Dinah. Hardly an original observation, but a lot of the problems that many of us humanoids face are the result of the basic fact that the evoloution of we tool using apes was not driven by the desire to be happy; it was driven by the need to survive. In modern times, there's often a conflict between these two goals. I guess great, great times a thousand grandpa didn't get eaten by a saber tooth tiger because, constantly on the verge of wakefulness, and frequently crossing over that barrier, he escaped the stalking tiger. Hence, insomnia.
