In reply to That weekend feeling, same old same old, posted by Tabitha on August 2, 2003, at 0:44:16

I am totally there with you - I have even developed a sort of "weekend anxiety syndrome". It begins sometimes Thursday or definitely Friday. My weekends don't usually turn out to be That Bad, but like you said, they are often quite lonely. And for me, I just don't want to really do anything... but I don't want to do nothing either. It sucks. I've started trying to be "good to myself" as everyone says, and just do things that are relaxing and somewhat fun. Like rent movies. Read. Go on walks. Drink a bottle or two of wine... okay, that's really not so good.

It's like Tony said - weekends are supposed to be so great. You hear it all over the place, on the radio especially when the DJs are saying "you've made it through the week, now it's time for a GREAT WEEKEND!!" and such. Co-workers who say they are so ready for the week to be over, and you just have to smile and nod. I definitely feel pathetic to not share in this feeling. And then coming in to work Monday and people say "what did you do this weekend?" and again, like practically every weekend, I have to say "oh not much".

Anyways. I hope that your weekend is turning out okay and you find something interesting/fun/relaxing to do.
