This was the so called "button hook" opperation.
It sure did quiet them crazy folk down, though.
left them with no memory or personality.

However, "Psyco surgury" is still done today in extream cases. Very specific destruction of connections and structures in the brain when those structures are ID'ed to be the cause of the problems.
