...here in North America, they're more often called a mountain ash, but same tree. I love the finely divided leaves, the spray of white flowers in spring & the bright red berries in the fall. And every fall, migrating birds, generally waxwings, come & strip the berries off in a couple of days. It makes me happy to think the berries are fueling the birds for their long migration flight. I started 2 trees as seedlings, 11 years ago & have taken then with me whenever I've moved. I've got them planted in garbage cans & if I can ever have a home to call my own, I'll plant them.
When my youngest was only 4, he called rowan trees, broccoli trees. He thought the unopened flower spray, tightly closed in bud, looked like tiny broccoli - & they do! The world, seen through the eyes of a child, is a wondrous thing. It was him that noticed that the flowers of wild mustard I had growing in my veggie garden (to trap flea beetles) smelled like chocolate & very strongly! Hence, they became chocolate flowers to him.
I like a place to be fairly bare & minimalist. It feels less cluttered & is easier for cleaning (& moving). I like the Japanese idea of decor - murals on the wall & a minimum of furniture, & what there is is close to the ground. I like sitting on floors anyway.
