Terrorism on all Accounts

The recent Bali bombings have left many of us in deep shock here in Australia. We shed tears with America after the bombing of the World Trade Centre and now it is Australia's turn to mourn for their own fellow countrymen.

Last week, our mental health resources were stretched to the limit. It seems that the terrorists got exactly what they wanted. When they bombed the World Trade Centre, they didn't just take away a few thousand lives. They used their biggest weapon, FEAR, to attack the happiness and sanity of millions of Americans. Now they have done the same to Australians because we, too, have chosen to stand up and fight against their cruelty.

We can't let them do this to us. We can't let them use fear to ruin our lives. So many Australians feel that life in this country will never be the same again, and I know that there are people all over the world who feel the same.

This has all been said before, but I really believe that we need to pull together within our communities (even internet communities) rebuild one another's confidence and self-esteem. If we preserve our mental health then we've won half the battle. It will make us better allies and we will fight a better war.
