Wow. Interesting story. Glad I don't own a yellow lighter. :) I would like to operate on logic about my superstition (and get rid of it) but when I hear stories like this I think it's safer to stick to my irrational fears.

> Chances are, if you're walking around with a yellow lighter that means you're a smoker, which is bad karma right there. Especially in California.
> My son has always had an aversion to yellow lighters, swearing that they're bad luck. To prove to him how fruit that was, I bought a yellow lighter and told him I was bringing it with me to work.
> I've been working since I was seventeen, and the day I brought that yellow lighter to work was the worst day I've ever had. Everything, absolutely everything went wrong, and I was extremely upset by the time I got in the car to go home. A few weeks before, I had bought a cassette tape that was supposed to de-stress you with sublimal messages, but I had never listened to it. I tore off the wrapper and stuck it in the cassette player, which promptly ate the cassette-completely destroyed it. I rolled down the window and threw the yellow lighter out of the car. Won't touch one now.
