I cant imagine your therapist will care how you pronounce it, or judge you in some way. However, I respect that this is something which has turned into a big issue for you.
However, if it helps, I would pronounce it as
eye-dee-ation (without the gaps, of course!)
Tho I am in the UK and it may be different elsewhere...
Also, I would imagine 'ideate' comes from the same 'root' so the guidance you found for that should apply to both words.
