Thanks for that.

It helped me a lot to post to the list, and I've really appreciated the replies. I have had much worse bosses than my new one, and have got more sensible about it. At least this one isnt psychopathic (one I had sacked someone without a good reason while they were having major surgery...) Your sounds pretty awful too- sympathies. Its really difficult when you realise they dont have the basic moral standards you take for granted- till they were missing!

I went to Las Vegas for a couple of days years ago, as part of a month's trip to various parts of US (it was great! Liked New York and the Grand Canyon best, tho of course didnt see many places). It was a *very* strange place to be- and my friend and I caused some confusion by *walking* everywhere! We benefitted from the cheap and comfortable hotels, but found it all a bit unnerving and unreal. I won my only bet, in a slot machine next the lunch queue!

I've heard its changed a lot since then, but it certainly sounds like a place to hold something a bit morally unclear and full of showbiz.

One thing I have learned about untrustworthy bosses, by the way, is to put everything in writing or have a witness. Very tiring!

I overreacted for some reason re my situation, but now duly grateful that new boss *only* waffley, indecisive and unable to say no. There are a lot worse things!
