so i take it it's not a good investment? :) i wonder if there is something about the idea of being a "nonsmoker" that backfires...i think mair posted on this earlier, but it had to do with taking it one moment at a time and not jumping ahead to I AM A NON-SMOKER, OH NO! WOOHOO!

there is a famous old psychology experiment in which they put numerous people, one after one, into a room filled with food, all sorts of delicious sweet things, and told them "you can have anything you want, except the oreos." they filmed the people and sho nuff, they all hovered 'round the plate of oreos not knowing whether to indulge or not. some gave in and just gobbled 'em down. the theory was that if the psychologists had not mentioned the oreos, they wouldn't have been the "forbidden fruit," and the peeps would have just eaten a piece of chocolate cake or whatever else struck their fancy at that particular moment.

now that you've had the surgery (how did it go?!), is there any way you could have nicorette or the patch? they truly do help. i've smoked real cigs only once or twice in the past 2 and a half weeks thanks to this stuff. it's expensive as hell, but a good investment. i don't feel any better, but i went to a bar last night and realized this morning that my clothes *stink* of cig smoke! (i just smoked a couple of my non-smelly hippie herbals.)

hope you are well,
sar
