Doing further EMDR for trauma

Posted by ClearSkies on February 11, 2015, at 19:33:45

My new therapist (I moved across the country) is an accredited EMDR practioner. I have had treatments in the past that have been quite successful.

We're now going to dig deeper into the trauma layers, do some regression, and heal the infant or child who'd been traumatized. I am thrilled to be taking this critical next step in my recovery. I don't have specific goals other than to make me less sensitive to triggers overall. Exposure treatment has been disastrous.

I'm also pleased that my therapist and pdoc work within the same practice - transparency and communication is optimised. I so want to be free of my Disability label and the actual limitation. i would love to work in an office and not cower under my desk. I would love to work with the public and not fear being sexually assaulted.

i truly hope this path eventually leads to a remission, no matter the time frame. We can still grow, change and adapt.
