psychoanalysis vs other forms of therapy

Posted by deerock on June 1, 2012, at 9:31:52

hi all. im wondering something.
im seeing someone who is not a psychoanalyst. a regular psychotherapist.
he is telling me that its not necessary to be in analysis to heal from my past.

im trying to figure out something that may not be figure-out-able.

if i get better without doing psychoanalysis, does that mean i lose out on something, does that mean i will not get completely better? does one path make one more better than another path?

im confident this guy can help me. but im scared that by stopping my search for an analyst in particular, I may wind up with some unhealed wounds even though i attain more happiness.
