It may not be transference, but how much do you really about your T. In the sessions with you he would put on his therapist face, where he is caring, empathetic, understanding. etc. Who wouldn't want that in a partner. The thing that makes it hard though is you don't know what he is like outside of therapy. He may be a totally different person. I know that in my job (teacher) I have to put on one face for the job, and no one knows about the mental illnesses I battle with away from the job. I am a different person. Just something to think about.
