not insomnia - I just stay up for no reason - help

Posted by utopizen on August 2, 2009, at 22:28:40

it's just, I think, a bad habit. Riding my bike helps a ton... but anyone else have this problem?

It sort of started from dependence on all-nighters in college, and never quite died down... I like to think I'll do something I might finally focus well on that I've been putting off, but that's pretty much never.

At this point, it's just a hugely bad habit, akin to an addiction in that I know it's pointless, but I can't talk myself out of it and just join my cat to bed. On a good night, I'll go to sleep at 1:30. It's sort of rare, often it's 4.

any tricks? I know it's stupid, so what I'm asking involves brain hacking, pretty much... I'm sure I'll snap out of it if I return to habits I had long ago...

Of course, it was easier when I had a job that didn't start at noon...
