I didn't know that flourescent lights were known to be bad for us Kath. I've always been very sensitive to flourescent light--it makes me feel miserable, esp. working all day under it.

In college classrooms with tons of windows, they always flip those damn lights on--even on bright, sunny days. I always shut them off after asking if anyone would mind.

I do have them in my laundry room and recently needed to replace the bulbs that have been working for over 10 years. To make sure I bought the right type to replace, I put one in the backseat of my car so I could take it to the hardware store with me. Drove around like that for a few days before I learned they could explode.
