I would be upset that I didn't get to have that last session before the maternity leave too. It leaves things hanging .... and that isn't a good feeling. I'm sure once she gets settled (in a week or so) I imagine she will call ? maybe?
Having a sister as a head nurse in post partum at the hospital, I will tell you that she and baby are more than likely perfectly okay. Three weeks isn't that early with today's technology and medications. Baby might have to spend some time in NICU - or not. Every baby has their own agenda ... just as this one wanted to come and meet his mom and dad a little early.
I hope she does call so you can get a little more closure. How much time did she plan on taking before coming back to work?
You have us to lean on during this time. It must feel like she was ripped away from you.
She is gone BUT she is coming back!!!
