Crying is so hard to do for me, and he let me feel safe with it. He said gentle things to me, he encourage me to cry saying it was okay to let it all out in such a soft and caring voice. He didn't try to make me laugh or change the subject, he accepted my feelings. He let me feel it was okay , that nothing bad would happen to me.
When doing the EMDR, he would say nice calming things to me. It was hard at first because watching someones fingers and thinking of a memory is hard if you are also trying to hear what he was saying too. I am a musican, but I am not a drummer or a dancer, I am not that coordinated.
All this and only the 2nd session too. Maybe he is who I really need. When I got luckey and got my first appointment with him because of a last minute cancellation, on a very busy week before his vacation. He said "sometimes things happen for a reason".
I think I need him. He is so soothing to me. Kinda like a baby swaddled up and being sung to while being rocked, feeling safe and secure. At least I think that is how it would feel.
