It's good to see you here, and you are very brave for posting what you did, despite your worries about exgf.You know, I disclosed mine the first day of therapy, but I said, "Oh, btw...you should probably know xxxx, but I've dealt with it, and it's not really an issue anymore." Ha! Boy was I in denial. It really does have a pervasive effect, more than I think anyone realizes. And that's the hell of it.
But we are not damaged. We were hurt, and in many cases, by people we trusted. But we are not damaged. It may still hurt, and it may color what we think, feel, and/or do. But we are more that what happened.
I hope you feel some relief from posting it. I hope you find some comfort in knowing you're not alone, even if it's not a group any of us signed up for.
