There is clearly so much misery in New Orleans. I feel lucky by comparison, and maybe even a bit guilty that my major concern is therapy.
But d*mn it. What's important to us is important, period. You can't compare miseries. I DO know I'm lucky in comparison with the people still stuck there. But I also am EXTREMELY upset that I can't see my therapist as much as usual, that he is upset and sad, and that I may be terminated. I think I can hold those thoughts simultaneously, and I get a bit annoyed when I hear parents telling their kids that they can't complain about their discomforts, because they've got their lives and their families and should be grateful. And you wouldn't believe how much I've been hearing that. We've told our son he can feel as angry and sad as he wants, even if he has got his family and his life.
So feel free to complain about whatever is important to you. I certainly understand how important those things are, especially therapy!!!
