Hey daisy,

As a fellow person with a crappy dad I can say that it can be incredibly painful to look to someone for protection, love, and support and receive instead anything but that. It's hard to come to terms with that hope, that vulnerability we had as children and thus how painful it was/is not to get that. We deserved a lot more, of that I have NO doubt.
So maybe we can look at this day as standing in support of that love, support, and gentleness that people need, that people deserve, and demand it for ourselves. We can be SO good at taking care of other people because we KNOW how important these things are. Don't be harsh with yourself, give yourself permission to be human, to have needs, to take wonderful care of yourself.
