That's not at all unusual. I'd be very surprised if your therapist hasn't heard it many times before. You won't shock him at all. It's particularly common in men, I hear.

I'd go ahead and talk to him about it. Sometimes just talking about it lessens the fear. Plus I believe there are specific cognitive behavior treatments for it.

I've got a different issue with public toilets having to do with my fear of vomit, and my mother telling me never ever to sit on a public toilet. (I only went once in kindergarten. My teacher called my mother about it.) But I've talked to my therapist about it, relatively early on in therapy. He wasn't shocked or disgusted.
