As I understand it, the usual theory behind an accusation of unconscious or sublimated emotions is that if the emotion can be made conscious and felt, then it will stop having a mysterious (probably bad) influence on your life.

But maybe whoever told you you have a hidden emotion meant something else? Maybe that they thought you felt it but were hiding it from *them*?
