What's a Ya-Ya?

My mother was very poor as a child, which explains a lot. And very sickly, which her siblings accuse her of using for attention and to get out of work. And she had fits of temper - but if you believe her (and I at least partially do) many of the worst anger episodes were over injustices to others.

She wasn't all bad, you know. She pretty much supported me in whatever I wanted to do. And she taught me all I know about being kind and just.
