Hello. I did a year of DBT (both individual therapy and group skills training) for the problems you talk about.

I found it hard (especially skills training), but found that it was really helpful with respect to improving my level of functioning, and reducing the amount of SI and number of days in hospital.

I think that it is definately worth a go!
