I think it's great y'all make yourselves so physically comfortable. My therapist's couch isn't really conducive for snuggling. It's a two person one and leather. He's got two pillows on them, but I just carefully put them to one side so I can have my back to the corner. I read about people who can take off their shoes and curl up, and I can't even imagine doing that. And I can't imagine my therapist's reaction if I did! I can't help but think he'd be eying my feet and his sofa with disapproval. As for covering with a throw. Well, I think a communal covering would be too intimate a sharing with other patients for me to feel comfortable. For a while I tried to where a shawl when I went there to better be able to hug myself, but I haven't the panache to carry off a shawl.

I sure would like to curl up at his feet with my head on his knee. That's always my therapy fantasy. Fortunately, I don't have the fantasy while I'm actually there. So I'm guessing that it symbolizes the way he makes therapy feel for me, rather than a literal desire to curl up at his feet.
