This is because it is a good analogy for the struggles of life. If you think about it you can sink or float in water. Water can be calm, peaceful, relaxing, or it can be dangeerous with big waves or currents. You can swim through the water getting to where you want to. You can be rescued or helped if you are in difficulty. See what I mean?

My T tells me the same thing. He helps me with dream interpretation, but only after I tell him what I think it means.

I do see what you mean about water possibly representing one's life. Each time I've had a dream about water, it's been at a crossroad in my life or my therapy life. It seems even when I don't quite realize my life is changing, my dreams kind of let me know something's going on.

Thanks for the response, lookdownfish! It made a lot of sense to me.
