What you describe sounds more like CBT than Psychodynamic.

Psychodynamic is based on Freud's theories, but doesn't use things like the couch. It is a face to face discussion. The therapeutic relationship is very important. It believes in the unconscious.

I'm sorry. I'm not explaining this well. The brain isn't working so well this evening... You might do better to search on it...
