Topamax and severe dehydration

Posted by shesupsidedown on December 9, 2003, at 19:10:45

I have a couple questions for fellow Topamax takers out there....
I have been on Topamax for 2 years with most of the side effects going away (slurred speech, dizzness, fatigue, hair loss, weight loss,)But I am severely dehydrated...my blood pressure is extremely low as well...86/50...I carry around with me a gallon of water everyday and I cannot feel better....My skin looks aged by 5 years atleast, I recently went off the med. for a month and was amazed by the difference I saw in my skin...
Is anyone else experiencing this? I am considering going off...I cant imagine what this is doing to my health long term...

Also I was looking at Lamotrigine as an alternative...I suspect borderline personality disorder as well as the bipolar...anyone with experiences on this med?

And as a FYI....I have been rather disturbed by the recent outbreak of people using Topamax as a weight loss pill especially with all of its side effects...(eventhough when you first start taking it you are told they are minimal...hardly)
I wanted to let people know, yes, you do lose weight initialy...but it eventualy tapers off...atleast that was my experience...this pill is not a miracle...

Thanks for your reading...and your help...
