My diagnosis of BPD was really helpful to me. It gave my treatment a focus, and let me know that I wasn't alone. Knowing that there were others like me and that some of the experts were developing therapy programs for us was really helpful.
Great books on the subject (for therapists, but I like to read them, too) are "Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment of Borderline Personality Disorder" and "Skills Training Manual for Borderline Personality Disorder" both by Marsha Linehan. "Stop Walking on Eggshells" is a good book for family members of someone with BPD.
This message board is friendly and positive. The people talk about real problems, but they are working to move past them.
