thank you so much for posting this- it's extremely relevant to my situation now. Last week after therapy, I came home and told my husband I was coming down with something (not true, except psychologically) and then slept (or dissociated) for 18 hours. I continually question whether dredging up the past is of value- but the flashbacks, the triggers, all the things that lead me to dissociate or SI or other harmful responses, what do I do with those? It truly is a two-edged sword.
