This also reminds me of a touching post on Juan Cole's blog about a year ago by a young Iranian woman. Addressing a largely American presumed audience, she remarked on the similarities between Ahmadinejad and Bush (religious certainty, a stark, polarized worldview) and asked that we consider that, just as not every American supports what Bush is doing, neither do most Iranians approve of Ahmadinejad's moves on the world stage.
"Bomb Iran" is not a joke, contrary to Senator McCain (and others) riffs on the Beach Boys' "Barbara Ann." It's a desperate attempt to reverse one clear effect of American occupation of Iraq, enhanced regional power for Iran. It's also murder.
