Hiya rj,

Thanks for giving me an extra reason to open my Bible today. I'm putting this over on Faith because sometimes others get distressed with this topic appearing anywhere else.

I hope you keep wondering and reading. How about these?

Matthew 7:13-14

13 Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

Second one is more murky....but in Hebrews (many think written by Paul, or at least from a sermon by Paul transcribed by Luke, Barnabas or another follower later on...)...

Hebrews 13:9

9 Do not be carried away with various and strange doctrines.

I swear what you are thinking of has to be in Revelations, too, but I couldn't find it....yet.

But if you are thinking of **false prophets,** that is mentioned so many times in the gospels and in Jeremiah...all over.

If you don't already, try this out if you are searching for something in the Bible. It's a great tool since you can search so many different ways and see different translations, side by side. I think you'll like it:-)

I'm not sure how people talk to God, either. but I wouldn't take most of it literally, although I do think that certainly can happen...God is God after all and there is nothing He can't do. I do believe they sincerely believe they do, and that they do, but not like you and I would talk. They get a super strong thought or overpowering feeling about something that seems to come out of nowhere. They seem to hear a quiet whisper in their mind. They suddenly read a Bible passage in a totally different way. Probably a million other ways. To me, this is all talking to God, or God talking to them. I struggle with it, too. I get these thoughts, ideas, sometimes, too, but I am *never* 100% sure if it's coming from the Holy Spirit (so...God) or my own sneaky mind trying to get me to do what *I* like or want, even if it's not what God wants. It's hard - discernment. I envy those who seem to be more confident. I don't know the answers, but I will never give up.

Take care...
