No. In a roundabout way, the story is illustrating that people try to deny the existence of God because of the evidence of evil (pain, suffering...) in the world.

Abandoned children are not suffering because they have not looked for God. They are suffering because of the evil in the world. However if anyone, including an abandoned child comes to the Lord, He will be merciful to deliver them. He heard my cry as a hurting child, and He answered my prayers. No, it wasn't in my timing. It was in His. It wasn't answered in my way but His. But His answer was FAR ABOVE all that I could have asked or hoped for.

Psalms 34:19 "Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all."

> The story seems to be blaming the victim.

Granted, the last paragraph could have been a little less vague. But aside from that, the story makes a good point. I am sure that Dena would have worded the last paragraph more clearly if she had actually written the story. (I have seen it before on the internet, so I know she didn't write it.) But when sharing these things that get passed along through the internet, one doesn't usually alter someone else's work. (Well, I don't anyway.) I hope I clarified it a little for you though. I sincerely tried to.

> And what if the person with long, stringy hair couldn't afford a barber?

The point was that a person can't look a someone with long hair and then logically conclude that barbers don't exist. There could be an infinite number of reasons why the person has long hair and didn't go to the barber (no money, religious reasons, doesn't like barbers, just wants long hair...), but that is irrelevant.
