Don't forget about inter-library loan. I think virtually every public library (and all academic ones) has some "ILL". It can take weeks & weeks, which is the downside, but it's still faster than getting the library to buy a copy.
It costs the library shipping fees, but that too is cheaper to the system than buying the book.
