Have you tried a diet high in protein? Some carbs are necessary, but you don't want to overdo it with the carbs. Everything in moderation. A diet high in protein will give you that sustained energy without the mood swings. Some carbs may be okay. Also incorporate a variety of veggies into your diet with the protein. You actually need a balanced diet with protein, some carbs, and veggies. As far as I know, there is no established diet for bipolar disorder. However, fish oil capsules and borage oil can help with mood. You want to get a 1:1 ratio of the fatty acids. For example, I take 1,500mg of fish oil in the morning followed by 1,300mg of borage oil (GLA) a half hour later. Seems to help with mood. Are you on medication for the bipolar disorder? Sometimes, a little medication is necessary for the mood swings. My doctor gave me Lamictal. It's one of the more safer mood stabilizers. I also take Risperdal, which can help with manic symptoms. Also, Abilify is often given for bipolar patients. You'd have to talk with your doctor to find out what works best for you. I wish you a lot of luck, and don't give up.
