strange reaction to Uridine

Posted by g_g_g_unit on March 2, 2014, at 2:41:51

I've been experimenting with Jarrow's Uridine Monophosphate .. partly because the supposed cognitive benefits are just too sweet to pass up, but also because it's a 'dopamine normalizer', and has showed some benefit in Parkinson's type side-effects in one or two small studies.

To that extent, it's pretty much vanquished my akathisia whenever I've taken the full 250mg dose, usually as a capsule on an empty stomach.

However, and I'm not sure if these two things are related, but I become noticeably bloated and also experience difficulty breathing. The breathing thing is accompanied by a kind of chest fullness and inability to draw a satisfying breath.

I struggle with bloating regardless, and someone suggested it might be a gut dysbiosis (hence the potato starch). The potato starch helps my anxiety anyway, and so, trying again, the reaction to 250mg Uridine hasn't been as severe.. but it's still there. Cutting the Uridine dose down helped the issue a bit, but didn't fix it, and lower doses weren't as beneficial for akathisia.

Anyway, I could totally buy it's just increased anxiety, but difficulty breathing isn't something I frequently experience, even when stuff has made me anxious, so was curious..
